The final leg of the 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup series touches down in Paris this September, closing out a five-stop circuit that has taken gymnasts from Varna to Tashkent, Koper and Szombathely over the course of the year.
Unlike the all-around, team-based World Championships, the Challenge Cup is an apparatus-only competition, giving fans a concentrated dose of the sport's best vaulters, bar workers and floor artists across a single high-stakes weekend at one of gymnastics' most storied venues.

What Is The Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup?
The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup is a season-long international circuit that pits gymnasts against each other on individual apparatus rather than in all-around or team competition. Classified by the International Gymnastics Federation as a "Group 3" event, it sits below the World Championships in the sport's hierarchy.
Each leg follows the same format: qualification on individual apparatus (floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar for men; vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor for women), with the top eight gymnasts on each apparatus advancing to a final where medals, prize money and World Challenge Cup ranking points are awarded. Gymnasts accumulate points across the series, with an overall series winner crowned on each apparatus at the season's final leg.
The circuit is designed to widen international participation and give apparatus specialists and emerging athletes extra competitive opportunities outside the all-around format, making it a lower-stakes but still closely watched staging ground ahead of the World Championships and, ultimately, Olympic qualification.
The Road to Paris: The 2026 World Challenge Cup So Far
The 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup has unfolded as a genuine world tour: Varna, Bulgaria in May, followed swiftly by Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Koper, Slovenia, then Szombathely, Hungary in September, and now Paris, France, which brings the five-stop series to its conclusion.
Szombathely, the leg immediately preceding Paris, offered a preview of that unpredictability: Brazil emerged as the standout performer, claiming three golds across the men's and women's programmes (men’s horizontal bar, and women's uneven bars and balance beam). Brazil's Flávia Saraiva was the driving force behind her country's success in Szombathely, taking gold on both uneven bars and balance beam before adding a silver on floor exercise for good measure. Bulgaria's Daniel Trifonov continued his own remarkable run; adding a third World Challenge Cup gold of the season in Szombathely, on vault, to the horizontal bar title he won in Varna and the vault gold he took in Tashkent. As the season's last stop, Paris is where the 2026 World Challenge Cup champions on each apparatus are finally crowned.
