IBU Biathlon World Cup 2025: Le Grand Bornand
Le Grand-Bornand welcomes the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup back to the French Alps from 18-21 December 2025. Over four days of world-class competition, fans can expect high-speed sprints, intense pursuit races, and crowd-pleasing mass start finales - all streamed live for free on Eurovision Sport.

Before arriving in France, the World Cup circuit delivered an exciting Hochfilzen stop in Austria (12-14 December 2025). That weekend saw multiple standout performances and tight podium finishes across all events:
Sprint Winners Deliver Breakthrough Performances
The sprint races opened the weekend with decisive victories and clean shooting from two rising contenders.
- Tommaso Giacomel (ITA) won the men's 10 km sprint with sharp shooting and strong skiing.
- Lou Jeanmonnot (FRA) delivered a flawless performance to win the women's 7.5 km sprint, marking her first victory of the season.
Pursuit Races Bring Lead Changes and First-Time Winners
Saturday's pursuits reshuffled the standings.
- Éric Perrot (FRA) claimed victory in the men's 12.5 km pursuit after clean shooting throughout.
- Sprint winner Giacomel followed 10 seconds back for silver, maintaining his consistent form.
- In the women's pursuit, Lisa Vittozzi (ITA) shot a perfect score to secure a commanding win, finishing 11.4 seconds clear of the field.
Relay Events Showcase Team Strength

- Sweden won the women's 4x6 km relay with a dominant performance, finishing ahead of Norway and Germany.
- Norway captured the men's 4x7.5 km relay, extending their long-standing relay prowess, followed by France in second and Sweden in third.
Yellow Bib Leaders Emerging Ahead of Le Grand-Bornand
The Hochfilzen results also reshaped the overall standings heading into the French Alps.
- Anna Magnusson (SWE) is the new World Cup leader, earning the yellow bib for the first time in her career.
- On the men's side, Norway's Johan-Olav Botn retained overall leadership after another series of strong finishes.
